Book a session →I'm Zac — an Oahu-based portrait photographer working with people who feel awkward in front of a camera.
Most of my clients tell me they're "not photogenic" before we meet. Ninety minutes later, they're laughing, loose, and genuinely surprised by what they see.
That's the whole job: direct you gently, find the light, and keep the shoot low-pressure enough that your real personality shows up. The good photos follow from there.
Every week, I stop someone on Oahu I've never met and ask if I can take their portrait — no fee, no catch.

Locations
All locations — under constructionI shoot across the whole island — from the turquoise flats of Lanikai to the lava cliffs of the North Shore. If you don't know where to start, I'll match your session to the right light and backdrop.

"Zac is not only a talented photographer, but a joy to work with. I felt comfortable, relaxed and supported the whole time — and the photos turned out awesome."Maddison Yamamura — Oahu

Oahu portrait photography, wherever you're headed on the island.
Zac is a professional Oahu photographer based in Honolulu, traveling across the island for sessions — Waikiki, Lanikai Beach, Kailua, Ko Olina, the North Shore (Haleʻiwa, Waimea, Sunset Beach, Turtle Bay), Diamond Head, Kualoa, Makapuʻu and the Ka Iwi coast. Sessions cover weddings, engagements, couples, families, senior portraits, professional headshots, maternity, and Hawaii honeymoon and vacation photography — for locals, students, couples planning weddings or engagements, families visiting from the mainland, and travelers wanting photos they'll actually want to print.

Where will we take the photos on Oahu?
Anywhere you'd like on the island — Lanikai, Waikiki, the North Shore, Diamond Head, Kailua, or somewhere personal to you. If you're not sure, I'll suggest a location based on your session type, the time of day and the light.
What if I'm not photogenic?
That's what almost everyone says before a shoot. Everyone is photogenic with the right direction — most of the session is spent coaching expressions and angles so you look and feel like yourself on camera.
How much does an Oahu portrait session cost?
Three options to fit different needs. The Mini ($250) is 30 minutes in one location with 10 edited images — great for headshots, grad portraits or quick vacation photos. The Portrait Session ($500) is 60 minutes with 20+ edited hero images — the most popular choice. The Full Experience ($1,000) is 90 minutes with multiple outfit changes, multiple locations within reason, and 30+ edited images.
How far in advance should I book?
Weekends and sunrise/sunset slots typically book three to four weeks out, especially from April through September. If you're visiting, book as soon as your dates are locked.
When will I get the photos back?
A sneak-peek of three to five images arrives within 48 hours. The full edited gallery is delivered within 14 days.
What happens if it rains?
Oahu weather moves fast. We usually reschedule to later in the day, or to the next morning. No fees for weather reschedules.
